Thermo Fisher Acquires Prionics Animal Diagnostics Business

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. has completed the acquisition of Prionics AG, a privately held animal health diagnostics company. Founded in 1997, Prionics is headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland, and has a major production facility in Lelystad, the Netherlands. Prionics’ product line of more than 50 diagnostic test kits, accessories and biochemicals expands the portfolio of animal health testing products under the Life Technologies brand. Prionics brings a state-of-the-art infrastructure along with a certified tuberculin manufacturing facility, plus additional enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA) under the Life Technologies brand.
